Now for the next step in the experiment. After some research I signed up for OpenArt, went to the Director section and started a project. I pasted in the screenplay and it informed me that I needed some characters and backgrounds. (I didn’t realize it immediately, but OpenArt’s Director is itself an instance of Claude.)
So I went through the various tools in OpenArt, created character references, voices, and backgrounds. I signed up again to Midjourney and used it to generate ideas and background reference images as well. One of Midjourney’s images caught my eye – a colorful cluster of pods in a dark tunnel that fit what I had been envisioning in my mind’s eye but couldn’t quite capture in my own sketches.
